Overview

Earn $50 in membership credits for you and every friend that becomes a Collective Shift Member.

1. Share your unique link with your friends and colleagues.

2. They receive a $50 credit when signing up to become a member.

3. You get your $50 credit added to your membership!

Each member is automatically generated a unique referral link, that you can share with people. When new members subscribe to the Member Platform using the referral link, the referrer is given a $50 credit for the sign-up. The Referred Member is also given a $50 discount on their sign-up purchase.

How the discount works

When a referred member progresses through the checkout flow, they will see the discount from the referral link alongside their purchase total details, as shown in the below screenshot:

Lifespan of referral link

When a potential member clicks on a referral link, that referral will have a 3 day “lifespan”. This means that if a member clicks a referral link, closes the browser, returns to the site a day later and completes a sign-up, the referrer will still be given credit for the referral.

This will only be overridden if the member happens to click a different referral link (a link from another referrer). In this case, the second referral would take precedence.

When do the credits arrive?

A successful referral is achieved once the referred member has spent at least the credit amount on the Member Platform, excluding the discount they are given on initial sign-up.

For example, If the referred member purchases a Starter Quarterly at a cost of $139, they will be given a sign-up discount of $50, meaning they have spent $89 on the purchase. In this case, the referral is flagged as successful immediately.

Alternatively, if the referred customer purchases a Starter Monthly at a cost of $49, they will be given a sign-up discount of $50, effectively making their first month free.

The referral will not be flagged as successful until the referred customer renews their subscription, and pays another $49 the following month.

Refund Policy

In addition to the above, the Member Platform has a 48 hour refund policy. To taken this into account, the platform will delay crediting a successful referral for 7 days.

Continuing from the above example, when the member purchases a Starter Quarterly membership and the new member refunded within that period, the referral will not be successful.

How can I use the credits?

Whenever a member’s subscription is renewed, the website will automatically check the member’s referral credit.

If the member has a non-zero credit amount, the website will automatically apply a “referral credit” discount equal to the total credit available.

If the member has more referral credit available than the cost of their subscription, then the order will be fully discounted (costing the member $0), and the remaining credit will be available for the member the next time they renew their subscription.

If the member’s referral credit is less than the cost of their subscription, the entire credit will be used as a discount on the order, and the member will be charged the remaining amount.

The discount code, when used on a renewal, will say “Referral Credit”.
